| We've been learning some new songs on Sundays and I thought it might be helpful if we had the words and tunes to some of those songs during the week so we could get familiar with the music. That way, on Sunday mornings, we can focus more on singing our praises to God and less on whether the next note is up or down.
I've been impressed to find several of these songs on youtube.com with the lyrics written out. (I don't know if the original artists are quite as impressed as I was, but I suppose that's something for the recording labels and youtube to hash out.)
The plan is to have an ongoing list of songs posted here with links to their youtube presence. Sometimes there are interviews with the writers that are interesting and help to fill out the back story to the lyrics. When possible I'll post these as well as the versions with the lyrics written out. Many of these videos have accompanying images (which I tend to find somewhat distracting). When possible, I'll choose selections with as little image changing as possible.
